When I first started talking about moving abroad the reactions I got told me everything I needed to know about the people around me.

Not all of it was bad. My father surprised me first. Instead of doubt or concern he looked at me and asked what I was waiting for. That kind of encouragement from a parent lands differently. It does not just validate the decision it accelerates it. His words were a push I did not know I needed and I have never forgotten it.

Then there was my sister. She thought it was a poor decision. Could not believe I was serious. And even after I packed up my life and actually moved to Mexico she still could not wrap her mind around it. Some people need to see it to believe it and even then the belief does not always come.

But the reactions that truly surprised me were not from my immediate family. They came from the extended circle. Friends. Cousins. People I had known for years. And what I noticed was fascinating and honestly a little unsettling.

A lot of people took on my identity.

My story to leave became their story to leave. People who had never once mentioned moving abroad, never discussed it, never brought it up in a single conversation, suddenly were talking about it like it had always been their dream too. Like my decision unlocked something in them that was apparently just sitting there waiting for someone else to go first.

I found that deeply interesting. And I will be honest, I also found it intrusive. Because there is a difference between being inspired by someone and absorbing their journey as your own. I was not a template. I was a person making a specific decision about my specific life. But I think what happens is that when someone in your circle does something bold and countercultural it forces everyone around them to reckon with their own unlived desires. And that reckoning can look a lot of different ways. Some people cheer you on. Some people pull away. Some people try to come along for the ride without ever actually moving.

I felt the ones who pulled away. I always feel things like that. And I understood it even when it hurt.

Then there were the promises.

When I first moved I got a larger home. Extra bedrooms. I was accommodating the people who said they were coming. Family members. Friends. People who swore they would visit. That was four years ago. Nobody came. Not one person showed up.

I stopped waiting a long time ago.

And I do not say that with bitterness. I say it because I think it is one of the most universal and least talked about experiences in expat life. You leave. You build something real. You open the door. And the people you thought would walk through it simply do not. Maybe they are afraid. Maybe life gets in the way. Maybe the gap between wanting to go somewhere and actually going somewhere is wider than most people ever close.

What I have noticed is that daughters visit mothers. I see that. Parents and adult children making the trip to be together across borders. But extended family? Old friends? Sisters and brothers and aunties and uncles? That is rare in my experience and in the experiences I have observed. The promises are plentiful. The follow through is not.

I think if people wanted to come they would come. Four years is enough time. A lifetime of waiting would not change it for some of them and I have made peace with that.

What I have not fully made peace with is the why. Why do people promise what they never intend to deliver? Why does someone else’s courage to leave trigger such complicated responses in the people who stay? Why do some people step away from you the moment you outgrow the version of yourself they were comfortable with?

I do not have all the answers. But I think it is time we talked about it.

Because if you are an expat or thinking about becoming one you need to know this going in. The journey changes you. And not everyone in your life will know what to do with the person you are becoming. Some will celebrate it. Some will disappear. And some will tell everyone they are coming to visit.

They probably are not coming. But you are already there. And that is everything.

There’s a civil war happening in the U.S., but they won’t call it that. Not on paper. Not on CNN. And what’s wild is, even in a beautiful place, surrounded by warmth and safety and relative peace, the loneliness can still land like a sucker punch. Because the trauma isn’t just about where you are it’s about what you carry. And I carry a country I didn’t consent to. I carry generations of chaos dressed up as freedom. I carry the ache of trying to build new relationships when trust was shattered in the place that raised me. I carry the silence of those who don’t have words for what this is this ache, this displacement, this constant recalibration of who we are in places that were never made for our wholeness.

So, if you’re feeling it too that strange fog, that tension behind your eyes, that dread that doesn’t come with a name, know that you’re not fragile. You’re not broken. You’re awake. And this awareness is not an inconvenience, it’s a compass. I’m holding my herbs like armor. Chamomile, mullein, deep breath, closed eyes, bare feet on tile. I’m grounding myself because I have to. Because no pill ever gave me the kind of safety I’m still learning how to build.

Today, I’m not pretending I’m okay. I’m honoring the part of me of us that refuses to go numb. Because some of us were never meant to just survive. We came here to feel, to name, to transform.

You ever scroll past one of them big-ass marches online, see the crowd, the signs, the yelling, the matching T-shirts, and just… feel absolutely nothing? Like not inspired, not moved, not even irritated just numb. Like, “Damn, all these people out here screaming and sweating, and it still don’t move the needle an inch.” I’ve seen the drone footage bodies packed in tight like ants at a picnic, feet hurting, voices cracking, signs flapping in the wind and somehow the system still standing there like, “You done yet?”

That’s when it hits you they ain’t scared of no march. Ain’t worried about your clever little cardboard sign. Ain’t losing sleep over your recycled-ass hashtag. That chant you screaming at the top of your lungs? Chile, they done turned it into a ringtone. What scares them is what you don’t say. What you don’t post. What you organize in silence. What you pull your dollars away from without a single word. What you don’t show up for. But see, they trained us to think the powers in the show in being seen, in being loud, in being counted.

Somebody fed us a lie and wrapped it in Kente cloth. Told us if we all walk in the same direction, that’s called movement. Told us a sea of bodies on camera equals progress. Told us yelling loud enough would crack the walls of Babylon like some remix of Jericho. But baby, since when does a revolution file for a permit and send out a Facebook invite? Since when does the oppressor panic over a crowd it already mapped out with drone tech and facial recognition three days before you got your outfit together?

You think you disrupting something, but they got your coordinates, your chant sheet, and your Siri route. You marching, they monitoring you yelling, they filming and somewhere on a rooftop, a white dude named Chad sipping cold brew marking y’all on a grid like, “Yup, this one wears glasses, tracks left every time.”

And this new era of “resistance” we in? It’s been hijacked, boo. It’s cosplay. You march; they release a polite-ass statement. You scream; they drop a sticker pack. You block traffic for ten minutes and next thing you know, Netflix got a documentary narrated by some woman who wasn’t even there. Ain’t no pressure. Ain’t no stakes. Just optics. Just noise. Real protest hurts it costs and baby, it disappears. Not into jail, but into planning. It don’t shout it withholds. It don’t tweet it reorganizes. Loud ain’t the threat. Missing is.

Our people used to know this. Our elders understood the math. When they hit the streets in the 60s, they wasn’t out there for vibes and camera angles. They were choking profit lines, breaking systems where it hurt the bus fare, the lunch counter, the MONEY. They marched with purpose and preparation. Strategy. Discipline. They knew they were risking something real. Now folks out here disrupting brunch for TikTok clout and turning right around to tap “buy now” on Amazon. Marchin’ by day, feeding the beast by night. That ain’t no movement, that’s maintenance. That’s ceremony without consequence. That’s the simulation running its course.

And lemme say this part slow for the folks in the back power don’t live in the streets no more. It’s in basements. It’s in text threads that vanish. It’s in rooms where phones get powered off and notebooks come out. It’s in the money that stops flowing. The teachers that walk. The workers that ghost. The silence that hits the supply chain. Power don’t hold up signs. It reroutes the current. It withdraws and it starves what feeds the beast.

You can’t be both spectacle and sabotage. You gotta choose.

And at first, I rolled my eyes. Here we go. Another recycled panic with no pause, no breath.

But then I stopped. Because I saw it for what it really was: Collective recognition. People felt something. That movie triggered something real. It wasn’t just fear it was familiarity. Like, deep down, our spirit recognized the script. But here’s the part that hit me: Nobody ever taught us how to sit with that kind of truth. How to read it. Decode it. Interpret what we feel before we run with what we heard. So instead of reflection, we panic. Instead of decoding, we repost. Instead of discernment, we default to fear. But fam, Soylent Green was never about cannibalism.
It was about consumption.

Not just food.
Not just bodies.
But labor.
Identity.
Time.
Emotion.
Us.

“It’s going down Thursday at 2:00 PM. Three dudes John, Ron, and Bobby. They’ll be wearing all black, no masks, and they’ll even be livestreaming it. Here’s their socials, their license plates, and their baby mamas’ numbers.”

Now would you still panic… or would you just be ready?

Because that ain’t a threat. That’s a schedule. That’s a Google Calendar invite to foolishness.

And that’s what most American protests have become.
Not uprising.
Not revolution.
Not disruption.

Just scheduled theater.
Predictable. Pre-approved. Police-escorted pressure relief.

And baby, the system knows it.

Marching Ain’t Movement It’s Management

I saw something recently: a “King’s Day” march.
Million-person turnout. All across the country.
Matching shirts. Matching messages.
Even the time and the place was announced weeks in advance.

Now riddle me this:

What kind of threat tells the enemy when they’re coming, what they’re wearing, and where they’ll be?

If your enemy knows your plan down to the outfit and exit strategy baby, you ain’t a threat. You’re a target-rich environment.

They already know where the drones will hover, where the cell towers will ping, and what hashtags to flag.
You’re not shaking the system. You’re submitting your choreography to the same stage that enslaved your ancestors.

Marching may have once been powerful.
But power adjusts.
And what was once resistance has become routine.
It’s giving MLK cosplay on a broken loop.

Let’s Talk Superman II: The Blueprint They Hoped You’d Miss

In Superman II, there’s this pivotal moment.
Zod and his crew pull up at the Daily Planet looking for a fight.
Superman shows up, and the throwdown spills into the streets.

There’s a woman with a baby in a carriage.
A massive chunk of a building is about to crush her.
She screams: “Superman, save me!”

And he does. He swoops in, lifts the debris, saves the baby.
Applause.
Cheers.
Humanity preserved.

But then Zod slick, calculating, evil but observant says: “Ah… we have found his weakness. He cares for these humans.”

Whew.
Don’t miss that.

They stopped battling him directly.
They started targeting the people because they realized that was the fastest way to break him down.

That’s what U.S. shutdowns do.
They’re not designed to punish the rich.
They’re not designed to humble the elite.

Shutdowns are Zod-level attacks on the people, knowing damn well the “heroes” in office care too much to walk away but not enough to actually win.

The Shutdown Ain’t About Policy. It’s About Pressure Points.

Let’s be real. 80% of this government is made of corrupt, corporate-fed, egotistical demigods with pensions and private islands.
They don’t blink when a child starves, or a vet dies on a waiting list.
They move with immunity, impunity, and inherited arrogance.

Now here comes the 20% the Gavin Newsoms, the few reformers, the good-hearted folks still trying to “save democracy.”

But here’s the rub: Most of them still fighting in the open.
Still trying to protect the people in the middle of the chaos.
Still doing interviews with babies in the background.

And Zod is watching. Just like in the movie.

They’re not fighting to win.
They’re fighting to be liked.
To be moral. To be reelected.

Superman figured it out eventually he had to leave the battlefield.
Not because he didn’t care, but because his care was being weaponized.
He went home back to the Fortress of Solitude and tricked Zod into stepping into a trap that stripped him of his powers.

THAT’S strategy.

How Do We Strip the 80% of Their Superpowers?

Here’s the real question.
Not “How do we protest better?”
Not “How do we restore funding?”
Not “How do we convince the Zods to care?”

No.

How do we strip their powers?

Zod’s power wasn’t just physical. It was psychological.
He knew how to manipulate Superman’s values.

The U.S. government does the same thing.
They manipulate empathy.
They use suffering as bait.
They watch as you destroy your own peace trying to save something that refuses to be saved.

So, what do we do? We Superman II that thing.

1. Stop performing outrage.
   They expect it. They track it. They bank on it.
   Silence is confusing. Planning is dangerous.

2. Refuse the bait.
   Stop jumping every time they yank a social issue into the headlines. You’re chasing distractions while they pass billion-dollar defense budgets.

3. Build off-grid thinking.
   Not just land mindset.
   Barter systems. Alternative education. Community networks. Mental withdrawal from a system that doesn’t see you as human.

4. Expose the narrative.
   Stop calling it a shutdown.
   Call it what it is: a performance of scarcity by the wealthiest empire in modern history.
   They ain’t broke. They’re just brazen.

5. And most importantly?
   Stop marching where they can see you.
   Start moving where they can’t follow you.
   Digitally. Spiritually. Financially.
   Create your own Fortress. Invite your people in.

Final Word: Stop Marching. Start Moving.

You’re not powerless. You’re just distracted.

From inside, it all looks normal. From outside, it looks like a movie set where the script is running off the rails, but the extras keep smiling and hitting their marks like nothing is wrong.

They’ll march for a day, post hashtags for a week, and then go back to scrolling TikTok while the fire keeps spreading.

I don’t hate America. I hate what it’s become. I hate that it sells itself as “United” while operating like the most divided, disconnected society on Earth. I hate that people think the dome they’re living under is the whole sky. Call it what it is: The Divided States of America.

🔥 The Old Patterns in New Costumes

That’s the twisted part of human history when fear, ignorance, and power mix, they always find a public stage for cruelty.

The witch burnings weren’t really about “witches” at all they were about control. Public executions were a message: “Step out of line, and this is what happens to you.” They turned violence into a spectacle so the whole town internalized the fear.

And in a way, America still does this just with different stages. It’s not the wooden stake in the square anymore; it’s viral videos of police brutality, televised perp walks, media trials. The point is the same: make examples out of people, keep everyone else in line.

The heartbreaking part? Most folks in the crowd-back then cheered. Just like today, where the spectacle becomes entertainment instead of a warning.

💔 The Weight of Seeing Clearly

It’s the kind of sadness that sits deep in your bones because you’re not just watching events, you’re watching humanity repeat its ugliest patterns in new costumes. And you can see so clearly how it doesn’t have to be this way… but the people inside the cycle either can’t see it or won’t.

That’s why it hits harder when you step outside. You see the whole wheel turning, and you know exactly where it’s headed if no one stops it. It’s grief, frustration, and disbelief all tangled together.

🦎 The Old Template in a New Skin

Once you start seeing it through that lens the soul origins, the energy signatures, the long-game strategies the whole “random chaos” narrative falls apart.

This isn’t random. It’s patterned. It’s practiced.
And it’s been running on Earth for thousands of years in different costumes: kings, emperors, church leaders, CEOs, “presidents.”

The Tangerine Tyrant is just the latest iteration of an old template. The only difference now? We’ve got social media, so the stage lights are brighter, and the manipulation is slicker. The playbook isn’t new it’s just dressed up for the digital age.

💬 America isn’t broken by accident. It’s scripted dysfunction old methods of control disguised as modern politics, reality TV, and endless distractions. And from the outside looking in, it’s clear: the show won’t end until people realize they’re not just the audience… they’re the cast.

The Oracle Says

I don’t want this to sound like I hate America or that I’ve written it off completely. I don’t. I want it to get better. Every time I see a video where people are coming together, offering space on their land, building communities, or pooling resources, I cry. I shout. I root for the underdog, because I know there are still pockets of freedom and hope.

But the people have to get smarter about their resistance. The first thing they need to do is get off the streets. Vacate the stage. That will confuse everyone the National Guard, the local police, the political machine. Don’t give them the spectacle they’re expecting. Go home, organize, and if they want you, let them come into your house, where you have the right to defend yourself. Disrupt the script by not playing your part.

At the same time, keep building. Communities, financial structures, networks of support. I recently joined Black Shares, where they’re creating not just community, but a financial base people can actually rely on as the tables turn in the States. That’s the kind of foundation people will need.

I’m not there physically, but I’m connected through the main vein of TikTok, where the real information flows. I’ve been watching almost addictively and watching the suppressed stories that mainstream media buries. But I also remind myself to take breaks, to step back, to protect my own energy. Because while I’m not there, I’m still linked to the struggle, still invested in the possibility that people will come together, follow through, and choose a different life.

And that includes my Mexican brothers and sisters, who’ve been pushed by the U.S. eject button and are finding their way home. The possibility for something new, something better, is still alive. But only if people stop playing the roles written for them and start writing their own script.

💔 1. The Grief I Carry (Real Talk from NikitheOracle)

I been sitting with this for a minute. At first, I thought I could just write it like any other post but truth be told, this one got me shaking. Because it’s one thing to know America is evil. It’s another thing to feel it cracking inside your bones.

I’ve been watching these women from New Orleans mothers, aunties, grandmamas, neighbors telling their stories like open wounds that never closed. Talking about how the water rose, how the helicopters flew past them, how nobody came.

And y’all… I couldn’t stop crying. Not because I was surprised but because I already knew what they were saying was true. I knew it in my gut. In my spirit. In my memory. Even if I wasn’t there, I was there.

This wasn’t just a flood. This was a betrayal. An abandonment. A system standing over our people and saying: “You don’t matter. Not enough to save. Not enough to return to.”

So, this ain't no think piece. This is a grief piece. A rage piece. A remembering.

Because when I say Katrina wasn’t a hurricane… I’m not talking about weather.
I’m talking about what was done to us after the clouds cleared.

And I got some things I need to say.

🌀 2. The Lie They Sold Us (They knew. They always knew.)

The way they tell the story now, it was all just…a tragic accident. A surprise.
A natural disaster.

“No one could’ve predicted it.” “The levees broke.” “FEMA was overwhelmed.”

That’s the version they printed. That’s the lie they repeated until it started sounding like truth. But the streets been talkin’ and those who survived been screaming for years. They knew. They always knew.

New Orleans was a bowl. Geographically vulnerable. Engineered that way.
The government had YEARS of reports warning that the levees wouldn’t hold.
They had time. They had money. They had choices. They chose neglect.

And don’t get me started on Bush that man sat his smug little puppet face in a Florida classroom reading upside-down books while the Gulf Coast was being swallowed whole. Don’t tell me about overwhelmed. Tell me why the president waited days to even acknowledge the dead.

FEMA didn’t “struggle.” FEMA withheld. They blocked aid. Turned away truckloads of water.
Delayed buses. Left people stranded in 100-degree heat on rooftops, in wheelchairs, in wheel wells. And they had the NERVE to act surprised when folks started breaking into stores for food and Pampers. They weren’t looting. They were surviving.

But America doesn’t see Black survival as sacred. They see it as criminal.
And the media oh, they played their part, too. Showed every dark face they could find, painted the city as lawless, violent, animalistic. So, when the troops rolled in with rifles, nobody blinked.

This wasn’t a rescue mission. It was a containment zone.
And the world watched it unfold on flat screens over dinner like it was some dystopian movie. But for our people? It was real life. And It was never about saving them. It was about removing them.

💣 3. What Really Happened: A Timeline of Betrayal (Not a storm. A slow, deliberate execution.)

Let’s stop dancing around it: Katrina didn’t “go wrong” it went exactly how they designed it. And if you don’t believe me, just follow the timeline. Here’s how they let an entire city drown in broad daylight.

⚠️ BEFORE THE STORM

· Experts had been warning for YEARS that New Orleans was a catastrophe waiting to happen.

The Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, even National Geographic had published reports:
“If a Category 3 hurricane hits, the levees will fail.”

• Congress ignored the funding requests.

• The levees remained patched-up, outdated, and fragile.

• Translation: They knew it could happen. They chose not to prepare.

🌪️ AUGUST 29, 2005 – THE STORM HITS

• Katrina made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane, not even the worst-case scenario.

• Initial impact missed New Orleans directly but the levee system failed anyway.

• Black neighborhoods like the Lower Ninth Ward and New Orleans East flooded first fast, deep, deadly.

Locals reported hearing explosions before the water rushed in. Some still believe to this day: the levees were blown on purpose. Sound crazy? So did the idea that they’d let people die… until they did.

🚨 THE FIRST 48 HOURS

• No FEMA. No National Guard. No coordinated rescue.

• Hospitals running out of supplies.

• People trapped in attics, clinging to roofs.

· The Superdome and Convention Center packed with thousands no food, no medicine, no toilets.

Imagine being told to go somewhere for safety… and then they leave you there to rot.
That’s not chaos. That’s abandonment.

🪖 MILITARY ARRIVES BUT NOT TO HELP

• When troops finally came, they didn’t bring water.

• They brought weapons.

• They treated survivors like enemies not citizens.

• People trying to walk to safety were turned around at gunpoint by police on bridges.

Let that sink in: You survived a hurricane, a flood, and starvation… just to be told you couldn’t leave.

🧼 CLEAN-UP = CLEANSING

• Once the waters receded, the real operation began: Erasing the poor.
  Bulldozing public housing.Privatizing schools.
  Relocating entire families across the country never to return.

This wasn’t recovery. It was a reset. This wasn’t incompetence.
This wasn’t “bad coordination.”
This was a controlled demolition of Black life.
And they pulled it off in front of the whole world.

📸 4. The Media Demonized Us (If you believed the news, you missed the truth.)

They say the camera don’t lie but it sure as hell can be taught to. And during Katrina, the cameras were trained to do one thing: Make us look like the problem.
Not the victims. Not the survivors. But the threat.

Let’s talk about those headlines. Two photos. Same act.
One white person wading through floodwaters with groceries the caption said: “Survivor finds food after hurricane.” Now flip to the Black person doing the same damn thing: “Looting amid chaos.” Make that make sense.

They plastered our people across every channel, highlighting broken store windows and crowds outside Walmart but never showing how the government had locked up the food,
turned back trucks, let people go DAYS without anything.

What you expect folks to do? Starve in silence?
There were babies needing formula. Elders with no insulin.
People bleeding, burning up with fevers, dehydrated in 100-degree heat.

They didn’t loot. They did what any human being would do when abandoned.

But the media didn’t want humanity.
They wanted a storyline. One where Black people were “out of control.”
Where martial law made sense. Where troops with rifles didn’t feel like overkill they felt “necessary.” And that’s the slick trick, ain’t it? Use the camera to stir fear.
Make America think the real threat wasn’t the flood it was the people in it.

Let’s be real.
The media didn’t just report on Katrina they helped justify the violence.

They made white America feel okay watching us suffer. Made them switch the channel with a clean conscience. Made them say things like: “They should’ve evacuated.” and “Why didn’t they leave?”

As if poverty is a choice.
As if buses magically appear for poor people in a crisis.
As if this whole setup wasn’t engineered to trap them.

And still… STILL… our people survived.
They built rafts out of doors. They carried elders on their backs. They swam through filth just to try to reach higher ground. And the news called it criminal.

Let me be clear: What they survived should’ve been called miraculous.

But when Black people endure the unthinkable, America calls it “suspicious.”

🏚️ 5. Gentrification Was the Goal All Along (The water washed them out, and the bulldozers sealed the deal.)

Let’s stop pretending like they wanted the people of New Orleans to come back.
They didn’t. The flood was convenient. The aftermath was strategic.

As soon as the water dried, the vultures landed. Developers. Real estate moguls.
Politicians with contracts in one hand and bulldozers in the other.
This wasn’t a rebuild it was a reset.

💥 Public Housing? Gone.

The same government that said they “had no resources” somehow found all the funding they needed to demolish Black housing. Brick by brick. Even buildings that had survived the flood were bulldozed.

“Too damaged,” they claimed. But really? Too Black. Too poor. Too rooted in community.

💰 Private Investors Swarmed In

Land that had been in families for generations was suddenly worthless…unless you were buying it. And baby, they bought it cheap. Pennies on the dollar.
Whole blocks turned into condo developments, high-end art districts, and “mixed-income” lies. You know what mixed-income means, right?

“We might let two or three of y’all in, but not enough to change the view.”

🏫 Schools Flipped Overnight

New Orleans public schools? Erased.
The whole district was dismantled. Teachers fired.
Replaced with charter schools run like private corporations.
Test scores didn’t go up. But control sure did.

Now ask yourself: Why would a city in crisis need education reform before clean water?
Because it was never about the kids. It was about the contracts.

🪞 Culture Washed Away, Then Repackaged

Second lines, soul food, Creole, bounce, beignets, Black joy they tried to repackage the culture without the people. Airbnb’d our neighborhoods. Painted murals of what they erased. Tried to museum us while pushing us out. They wanted the flavor of New Orleans
just not the people who made the gumbo.

💔 The People Who Tried to Return… Couldn’t

They called it a “rebuild.” But it came with price hikes, red tape, and restrictions.
FEMA trailers falling apart. Insurance that wouldn’t pay out. Section 8 lists closed.
People scattered across the country Houston, Atlanta, Dallas never to come home.

Families were split. Generations uprooted. And nobody checked back to see how they were doing. Because they didn’t care. They cleared the land. That was the mission.

This wasn’t a tragedy.
It was a land grab.
And baby… they been doing it since forever. Katrina was just their wettest blueprint yet.

🧘🏽‍♀️ 6. The Spiritual Attack (This wasn’t just about bodies. It was about soul displacement.)

You can’t talk about New Orleans like it’s just another city.
This ain’t no ordinary zip code. This is sacred ground. A portal.
A place where ancestors walk with you and spirits don’t ask permission to speak.

New Orleans holds Black joy, pain, magic, and memory all in the same breath.
It’s Congo Square.
It’s Hoodoo and Voodoo.
It’s the sound of brass bands making grief dance in the streets.
It’s resistance that never needed a mic, just a drum.

So, when Katrina hit, it wasn’t just a flood. It was an assault on the frequency of an entire people. They weren’t just trying to kill bodies. They were trying to break the vibration.

Because this city was too powerful. Too rooted. Too Black in its bones.

And what do empires always do to sacred things they can’t control?
They flood it.
They burn it.
They silence it.
And then they steal it remix it, rebrand it, and sell it back without the soul.

They didn’t just want the land.

They wanted to sever the connection.

To make sure the grandchildren of Congo Square would never dance there again.
To make sure the wisdom women who brewed herbs and lit candles in windows were displaced.
To cut off the griots, the healers, the quiet prophets who lived in shotgun houses
and knew things without having to say them.

This was a ritual.
A mass unrooting.
An intentional unraveling of ancestral threads.

And the people who came in after?
The ones who bought up land, threw up yoga studios, and hung “NOLA Strong” signs?
They felt the power… but they didn’t understand it. So they painted murals of second lines they never earned and threw festivals on bones.

But here’s the truth: Our spirits don’t drown.
Our magic don’t mold. Our memory don’t evaporate.

It lingers.
It watches.
It waits.

New Orleans is still speaking. Just not to everyone.
Only to those with ears that can hear what the levees tried to silence.

🕊️ 7. I Speak Their Names (Not forgotten. Not faceless. Not gone.)

I can’t write this without pausing.
Without letting my spirit bow low. Because this ain’t just a retelling, this is a remembrance. A calling in. A calling back.

There are too many names we’ll never know. Too many stories that didn’t make the news. Too many Black women whose pain was swallowed by silence, whose babies died in their arms, whose cries bounced off Superdome ceilings and never got answered.

Some of them are still alive… but not whole. Still breathing… but not healed.
Walking through trauma with no headline, no apology, no aid. And if you’ve ever loved a Black woman, you know she’ll survive the worst thing imaginable
and still offer you a plate and a prayer.

• So, this is for:

• · The woman who held her neighbor’s hand as the water swallowed their street.

• The one who gave birth in a stadium bathroom while people stepped over her.

• The grandmother who fed five kids with one bottle of water and half a box of crackers.

• The sister who swam through dead bodies to find her mama.

• The nurse who stayed at the hospital because she couldn’t leave her patients behind.

• The child who never made it to their first day of school.

• The man who lost his mind because the government made him choose between drowning and being shot.

• The ones who still carry that flood in their lungs, their bones, their dreams.

I speak their names not because I know them all, but because I feel them all.
In my chest. In my tears. In my purpose. And if you're reading this?
You probably feel them too.

“To every soul who was failed, abandoned, demonized, erased:
I see you. I honor you. I speak you back into memory. You didn’t deserve that. You never did. I’m so sorry. And I won’t be quiet about it.”

🔥 8. May America Be Judged Accordingly (No mercy for the unmerciful.)

I said what I said.
May America burn for what it’s done.
And before anybody clutches pearls or tries to center their fragility
ask yourself this: Where was their mercy?

Where was the mercy when babies floated past FEMA boats?
Where was the mercy when women begged for help with dead husbands in their arms?
Where was the mercy when mothers were lied to, demonized, and left to die in filth?

Let me be clear:
I don’t care about your flag.
I don’t care about your patriotism.
I don’t care about your fake tears on the anniversary every year.

You don’t get to call yourself a nation of values and then leave an entire city of people
Black, poor, discarded to rot in floodwater for DAYS. You don’t get to say “never forget” when it suits your history and erase what you orchestrated in plain sight.

You don’t get to call us “resilient” when you’re the reason we had to become that in the first place.

This country didn’t fail New Orleans.
It targeted her.
It dissected her.
It swallowed her music and spit out condos.
It profited from her pain.
It took her soul and said,

“You should be grateful we even noticed.”

Let’s talk about the curse.
You want to know why this country feels like it’s unraveling?
Because the blood and bones it was built on are rising.
The flood didn’t wash it clean it exposed it.

You can’t bomb countries, enslave nations, displace generations,
and expect to harvest peace.

Katrina was not just a reckoning for New Orleans.
It was a mirror held up to America. And baby… the reflection was hideous.

So yes.
May America be judged accordingly.
May it lose sleep the way those mothers did.
May it wander, displaced and invisible, the way our people did.
May it feel even for one second the weight of what it did to them.
To us.

Because when the reckoning comes?
I promise you this: The flood will look like a drizzle compared to the justice that’s due.

💎 9. The Rebirth: What Comes After Truth (We remember. We rebuild. But not like before.)

After the smoke, after the flood, after the silence what’s left?

We are. The descendants. The memory-keepers.
The ones who heard the screams under the water and refused to forget.

We can’t undo what happened in 2005.
We can’t bring back the lives lost or repair the generational rupture overnight.
But what we can do is this: Tell the truth.
Keep the records. Speak the names. And break the spell.

Because the real damage didn’t just happen in New Orleans.
It happened in the collective soul.
In the way the world watched and stayed comfortable.
In the way they still talk about it like a “natural disaster” and not the state-sanctioned spiritual assassination that it was.

But here’s the thing about our people: We rise different.

Not shiny. Not whole.
But sacred. Informed.
And unstoppable.

So don’t let them package Katrina into a documentary and call it closure.
Don’t let them reduce it to a “bad response” or a “failure to act.”
This was a blueprint and if you look around, they’re still using it.

But we’re different now.
We see it.
We name it.
We counter it.

And we don’t wait for permission.

You reading this?

Then you’re part of the remembering. You’re carrying the torch.
You’re the answer to the flood they thought would drown us.

Because we are the levees now. And this time, we ain’t breaking.

To the women whose feet blistered in floodwater, to the men who screamed into the sky and got no answer, to the babies born in chaos, and the elders who took their last breath in silence I didn’t forget you. I can’t forget you.

Your pain lives in the marrow of my bones now.
Your story is braided into my breath.
You didn’t just “make it through.”
You made history breathe again.

I’m sorry for what they did to you.
I’m sorry no one came.
I’m sorry your screams had to bounce off the walls of a dome instead of being met with love.
I’m sorry your dignity was treated like debris.
I’m sorry the world needed a hashtag to remember your humanity.

But hear me when I say this:

You were never invisible.
You were never less than.
You were never the problem.

You were the evidence of a system that was never built to hold you
and the proof that even when abandoned, Black survival is holy.

So may this piece stand as a digital altar.
A candle lit.
A testimony offered.
A mirror held up to power.
And a promise that your names, your stories, and your spirit will never be erased.

Because I’m still here.
Telling it.
Writing it.
Screaming it when necessary.

And I’m not the only one.
You live through us now.
You always will.

I was scrolling TikTok, just vibin’, when I came across this gut-punch of a story.

A young Black man, born while his father was serving in the U.S. military overseas, had just been deported. Expelled. Shipped off to a country he’s never known. No roots there. No people. No place to land. Just gone.

His father? A veteran. A 20-year service man. Immigrant-turned-citizen who risked life and limb for the very same country that decided on a technicality that his child didn’t belong.

That video cracked open something deep.

It wasn’t just sadness. It was recognition. A knowing that this ain't just about that boy. It’s about all of us. About the fine print. About how citizenship is a chess piece, and we never hold the board.

Then I started looking deeper into this Birthright Citizenship bill and baby, the underbelly is ugly.

I see people, even some Black folks, saying it’s a good thing. That it’ll stop “others” from abusing the system. But I’m sitting here like… are y’all reading the same energy I’m reading?

Trump even said birthright citizenship was originally for the children of slaves. But how he said it felt... cold. Disrespectful. Dismissive. Like a receipt we no longer deserve to keep.

So, I had to ask myself: What’s the real play?
What does “Earthright” mean in a world obsessed with paperwork and power?
Who decides who belongs?

This ain’t a think piece. It’s an exposé. A soul inquiry. And I want you to walk with me through it.

Because when the dust clears, it won’t just be immigrants on the line.
It’ll be the very definition of who gets to exist freely on Earth.

CHAPTER 1: FINE PRINT FREEDOM

The trap is always in the footnote.

You ever been handed something that looked like a gift… until you read the back? That’s what this Birthright Citizenship bill feels like. It’s dressed up like protection. Like law and order. Like “cleaning up the system.” But underneath that? It’s a legal way to erase people before they even become somebody. Let’s talk straight.

Right now, if a baby is born on U.S. soil, they’re automatically a citizen. That’s been the game since the 14th Amendment came through after slavery, something that was supposed to make sure formerly enslaved folks and their children had permanent legal status. But now? There’s a bill on the table that’s trying to snatch that.

This bill says:

If your parents aren’t U.S. citizens, green card holders, or in active military service you don’t get citizenship just because you were born here.

Sounds simple. Sounds “logical” to some.
But here’s the catch:

It’s a setup.

Because life ain’t that clean. People fall in love across borders. Children are born while folks are deployed. Immigrants work, pay taxes, build businesses but their babies? Suddenly, not enough. Suddenly, don’t count.

So, ask yourself:

• What happens to a child born in the U.S. who can’t claim any other citizenship?

• What country are they supposed to belong to?

• What if their parents can’t safely return “home” because that “home” don’t exist anymore?

And what about the emotional weight?
When your existence becomes a technicality, what message does that send?

That young man I saw on TikTok he didn’t do anything wrong. His daddy served the country. Put his life on the line for the red, white, and blue. And now that same country told his son, “You gotta go.” No apology. No placement plan. Just... bye.

That's not freedom. That’s fine print genocide.
A silent way to un-name you. To disappear you on paper and call it law.

This ain’t just about paperwork. This is about who gets to belong and who never will, no matter how long they stay.

CHAPTER 2: BIRTHRIGHT FOR WHOM?

Not all rights were written with you in mind.

Let’s start here: The 14th Amendment wasn’t a gift. It was a cleanup.
After slavery “ended,” America had to figure out what to do with all the Black folks they’d held in bondage for generations. You can’t just unenslave people and not have a plan. So, the 14th Amendment came through in 1868 like: “All persons born or naturalized in the U.S. and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States…” Cool. Sounds inclusive, right?
But the real tea is: it was written to make sure the children of enslaved people could never be denied citizenship. It was a correction, not a courtesy.

So when Trump says, “It was only for children of slaves,”
you gotta tilt your head. ‘Cause the tone ain’t right.
It’s giving “you had your little amendment now move along.”

But nah.
That Amendment is the only reason many of us got documentation at all.
It’s the spine of how we legally exist here.

Now here’s where it flips.
After it was written to protect Black folks, white folks started using it too. Immigrants started being born on U.S. soil. Poor families, mixed-status families, asylum seekers all started building lives with that same clause. And that’s when they started questioning it.

Let’s call it what it is: They didn’t mind birthright citizenship when it protected us quietly. But now that it protects everybody else loudly, they want a refund.

This new bill is just the next play in a long game. It’s not just about immigrants. It’s about legacy.
About rewriting the rules again so the gates can close just as more folks start coming through.

And I wanna ask the question out loud: If they erase the 14th for them... what makes you think they won’t spin back and erase it for you too?

You think your birth certificate is safe because you’ve been here “forever”?
They made the rules. They can unmake them.
This ain’t about paperwork. It’s about power.

So again: Birthright for whom?
Because the moment you start questioning who deserves to be here,
you’re a half-step away from somebody doing the same to you.

CHAPTER 3: STATELESS IN BABYLON

What happens when no land claims you?

Let’s talk about the kind of terror that doesn’t wear a badge or come with blue lights but still takes your name.

Statelessness.
It sounds like some abstract legal term, but it’s really just this: You’re born. You live. You love. You try to get your footing. And then one day, a government says: you don’t exist here.

That’s what happened to that young man from TikTok.

His daddy served 20 years in the U.S. military put his body on the line for a country that plays “patriot” when convenient. The child was born overseas while his father was deployed. He was raised in America. Schooled here. He don’t speak the language of wherever they sent him. No aunties over there. No cousins. No kitchen smells that remind him of home.

But now he’s been deported to a country he’s never touched.
And guess what? That country don’t know him either.

So now he’s floating. Not “illegal.” Not “immigrant.” Just... nothing. Stateless.

That word cuts deep.

It don’t just mean no passport. It means:

• No access to healthcare

• No school

• No real job

• No ability to vote

• No future that doesn’t involve hiding

You become a ghost with breath. A body with no place to land.

And here’s where it gets even uglier Black statelessness hits different.
Because even when we have citizenship, this country still finds ways to treat us like temporary residents. So imagine what happens when they start pulling papers altogether.

No papers? No record? They can do anything to you.
And ain’t nobody coming to save you.

So, what’s the game?

This Birthright Citizenship bill opens the door to mass statelessness. Quietly. Strategically.
Start with children of undocumented parents.
Then those born abroad to naturalized citizens.
Then anyone whose paperwork is “in question.”

You see where this going, right?

Statelessness is modern banishment. You don’t need chains when people have no home. And Babylon aka the U.S. is testing how far they can push that.

Frfr, here’s the question I’m sitting with, and I want you to sit with it too: If land don’t claim you, and country don’t want you… Where do you go to be?

Because we been told to leave. Told we don’t belong. But now they not even pretending to give us a box to check. We ain’t just fighting for rights. We fighting for recognition.

And Earth… Earth might be the only one still claiming us.

CHAPTER 4: PAPER VS. PURPOSE

When the paperwork don’t match the presence.

We live in a world where a sheet of paper can determine if you matter.
Not your energy. Not your love for the land. Not your contribution, your community, your spirit.

Just... paper. Stamped by somebody who don’t know your name, filed by a system that wasn’t built with your face in mind.

So, let’s be real: Citizenship is not sacred. It’s paperwork.
And like all paperwork it can be shredded, rewritten, lost, or denied.

But purpose? That’s eternal.

You could be undocumented and still be divinely assigned.
You could be stateless and still be Earth-bound, Spirit-led, and ancestor-certified.

Think about it, what do we really mean by Earthright?

Earthright is the deep, ancestral knowing that:

• You were born on purpose

• The land recognized you before the laws ever did

• Your soul don’t need a passport

• You’re tied to the rhythm of the planet, not the rules of the empire

Earthright is why colonizers need borders, but we just need breath. It’s why they need documents, and we carry dreams. It’s why they question our right to exist, and we show up anyway.

But let’s not get it twisted.

They’ve made us believe that without the paper, we ain’t got no power.

That lie has birthed fear, confusion, and silence in so many of us.
How many people walking around thinking they’re nobody... because a system said so?How many mamas stressed that if ICE comes, their child might disappear into a folder never to be seen again?

How many families built whole legacies in a country that won’t even spell their names right on a damn form?

This is the tension: We’re living between the paper and the purpose. And the state is hoping we’ll forget our purpose just to chase approval on a piece of paper. But here’s the truth they don’t want you to remember: Paper expires. Purpose don’t.

Next time somebody throws “legality” in your face, ask:

• Was Harriet legal?

• Was Nat Turner legal?

• Was Jesus legal?

• Was your grandmama legal when she fed everybody on the block with food stamps and no fear?

Because legality ain’t morality. Legality ain’t divinity. And legality ain’t destiny. So, yeah keep your paperwork if you got it. Protect it. But never confuse it with who you are. Because you are Earthright-certified, purpose-aligned, and soul-stamped. And no bill, no border, no president, no paper can take that from you.

CHAPTER 5: THE BLACK GAZE

When the oppressed start siding with the system. This the one right here.
Because I’ve been watching, too. Quietly. And some of us some of our own people been co-signing this Birthright Citizenship bill like it’s finally our time to be gatekeepers.

You’ll hear it in comment sections:

“Well, I mean... they shouldn’t be having anchor babies anyway.”
“We gotta take care of our people first.”
“They need to get in line like everybody else.”

And I just wanna ask since when did we start talking like ICE agents in a fitted cap?

Let me make it plain: Black folks in America are NOT the gatekeepers of whiteness.
We do not own the front porch to a house that was never built for us to enter with dignity.

Here’s what I think is happening: A lot of us are still carrying the trauma of feeling unseen in this country. Real story, when we see other groups getting visibility, resources, pathways we don’t see it as a shared fight. We see it as competition.

But here’s the trap: We mistake proximity to power for protection.

We think if we align with the system this one time, maybe it’ll finally see us as the “good ones.” Maybe we’ll get our piece. Maybe we’ll be safe. But that’s not how systems like this work. They don’t hand you power for being obedient. They use your obedience to make an example out of you until they don’t need you no more.

When I see Black folks cheering for a policy that limits somebody else's child from having a shot at life, I gotta ask: Do you really think they won’t come for your child next?

You think your little generational trauma pass gon’ keep your baby off the next bus to nowhere?
You think they won’t change the rules again, mid-game, and say you don’t qualify now?

It’s a trick bag, fam. And some of us fell in headfirst.

Let’s talk about the real fear: Some of us feel like we never got our “birthright,”
so now we want someone else’s revoked too.

We were born into a system that undervalued our labor, stole our fathers, criminalized our joy, and gave us slogans instead of reparations.
So now, when we see other people moving into spaces we never got to claim, we tighten our grip and say, “Not y’all. Not until I get mine.”

But frfr… We will never heal from our erasure by erasing others.
And no, I’m not saying everybody deserves access to everything without process.

What I am saying is: we better watch who we stand with and who we stand on.

Here’s a deeper question:

When did we stop remembering that we were the ones once called “illegal”?
That our ancestors were trafficked here without permission or papers?
That we were once denied citizenship, denied names, denied language, denied land?

You forget all that just because someone else is now standing where you stood?

Nah, baby. We can't afford to forget.
Because this ain’t just about borders.
It’s about becoming the very thing that tried to bury you.

And I don’t know about you, but I ain’t got no desire to be a junior colonizer with melanin.

We’ll wrap this one with this question to sit with: Do you want justice… or do you just want your turn at the whip? Because if you’re cheering for oppression to fall on them, it’s only a matter of time before it circles back to you.

CHAPTER 6: QUESTIONS FOR THE FUTURE

What happens when paperwork becomes prophecy?

So, we’ve walked through the roots, the rules, the receipts.
We’ve seen how fast rights can shift depending on who’s writing the rules that week.

Now let’s pause, breathe, and ask the question they don’t want us asking: What kind of world are we walking into... when the definition of “human” can be rewritten at any time?

This ain’t just about immigrants.
It ain’t just about borders.
This is about belonging and who gets to claim it.
And more importantly, who gets erased from it.

If we let governments redefine who counts based on location, lineage, or legality
then we’re not just watching a shift in policy... We’re watching a shift in spiritual alignment.

Because Earth was never meant to be divided by imaginary lines and laminated cards.
That’s man’s invention.
The Earth don’t ask you for ID.
The wind don’t ask you for proof of address.
The soil doesn’t check your passport before feeding your feet.

Yo, let’s ask some real questions:

• What happens when babies are born without a home, not because they don’t exist but because the system refuses to see them?

• What happens to Black people in this equation, when we’ve never had full access to the promises of the land we built?

• What does a future look like where birth doesn’t equal belonging?

• Are we okay letting policy dictate presence?

• Who becomes the next “other” once this phase of removal is complete?

• And what if the Earth… is preparing to reclaim all of us beyond the paperwork?

See, Earthright ain’t a cute phrase. It’s a warning. It’s a whisper that says:

“They may own the land deeds, but they don’t own the land.”
“They may draw borders, but they can’t stop the bloom.”
“They may deport your body, but they can’t exile your soul.”

So maybe the bigger question is this: What will you do with your Earthright?
Will you trade it for safety?
Will you guard it with fear?
Or will you walk it like legacy something no empire can take? Because the war ahead ain’t just about rights.
It’s about remembrance. It’s about choosing purpose over permission.
And knowing that when systems fail, the soil still holds your name.

CLOSING: I Chose My Earthright. Will You Choose Yours?

I used my Earthright.

I left the place that claimed to be free but demanded the price of my soul to stay.
Because what kind of freedom is that? Anytime I have to trade my peace for proximity,
sacrifice my truth for survival, or shrink my spirit just to fit into systems that were never made with me in mind then that ain’t home.
That’s captivity dressed in convenience.

So, I left. I chose Mexico.
Not because it was perfect, but because it allowed me to be.
To breathe. To live not just survive.

Because I finally understood: Birthright is what they hand you. Earthright is what you claim.

I wasn’t born into this ease.
I had to walk toward it.
I had to unlearn the lie that said staying somewhere I was invisible was noble.
That enduring was strength.
That being a “strong Black woman” meant staying put and staying broken.

Nah. I am not a citizen of suffering. And I implore you whoever you are, wherever you are to use your Earthright too. To find the place that belongs to you externally or internally.
A land. A lane. A love. A liberation.
Whatever “home” looks like when it finally meets your soul at the door and says:

“Come in. You’ve been carrying enough.”

Because we don’t owe loyalty to land that doesn’t love us back.
And we don’t owe silence to systems that erased us then and still try to erase us now.

You deserve a life that fits. A place that sees you.
A rhythm that doesn’t ask you to disappear in order to survive.

I claimed mine.
The question now is...

🔥💌 READER’S NOTE: How This Started
I was scrolling through TikTok, minding my cosmic business, right? Just vibin’, letting the algorithm do what algorithms do. And then I saw a video of Dr. Claude Anderson straight-up undressing Juneteenth. Not just poking holes, ripping the whole damn fabric.

And I sat there like, yo… wait a damn minute.

'Cause once again, we out here clapping for scraps and calling it celebration. The hell are we doing?

This ain’t just about Juneteenth. This is about the fact that we the blueprint, the origin, the eternal beings are still in a system that gaslights us into gratitude for chains they took off late.

So yeah… I started writing. I’ve got a lot of shit to say. And some of it might sting. But if you can’t sit with the burn, you ain’t ready for the cleansing fire. 🔥

Let’s go.

Section I: Juneteenth Ain’t What You Think It Is: The Day They Gave Us Nothing and We Celebrated Anyway

Juneteenth is not our holiday. It’s our expiration notice. It’s the final signature on the ownership paperwork one that said, “Thanks for the free labor, we’re done now.”

Two years. That’s how long it took for them to tell the enslaved folks in Texas that slavery had ended. Two. Whole. Years.

You think that's freedom? Nah, baby.
That’s delayed disclosure with a side of deceit.

We were already free by law, but they kept that memo tucked in a dusty drawer because surprise they hadn’t squeezed the last drop of profit out of us yet.
And when they finally did? They told us, on horseback, like it was some grand proclamation.

Let’s be clear:
They didn’t “free” us they were just done with us. And now they want us to eat red velvet cake, wear Afro-centric T-shirts from Walmart, and light fireworks like that’s healing the ancestral wound?

Nah.
That’s called a corporate-sponsored coping mechanism.

And the fact that the government made Juneteenth a national holiday before they gave us reparations, land, protection, or even a damn apology should tell you everything you need to know.

And While We’re Here:

Let’s talk about what everybody else got:

• Japanese Americans: Reparations after World War II internment.

• Jewish Holocaust survivors: Global recognition and ongoing financial support.

• Indigenous tribes: Land (even if broken promises came with it), tribal sovereignty, and federal contracts.

• Asian Americans: A protection act passed within months after anti-Asian violence hit the headlines.

Black Americans?
We got trauma, Target commercials, and the damn Popeyes app.

Now let me leave you with this:

“The argument that we were in America first, albeit true, we were also on EARTH first. So that says what? We can live anywhere we choose and watch America try to survive without our consumption. We Black people spend the most and labor the least unless we're talking about having kids. We've been dumbed down to a molecule and have no skills or scaffolds.”

That ain’t poetry. That’s prophecy.
And prophecy don’t dance around feelings.

Section II: Claude Anderson Been Told Us – But We Weren’t Ready to Hear It

Dr. Claude Anderson is one of the few elders who didn't sell us sugar when we needed salt. He’s been ringing the bell in the tower while folks down below were too busy twerking for TikTok and fighting over crab legs to listen.

But we listening now. Because what he said back then? Is happening now.

His Core Message Was Simple (but dangerous to the system):

1. No group thrives without an economic base.
   That means land, real estate, banks, supply chains. Not just "Black-owned businesses" that buy their inventory from white-owned distributors.

2. We fought for civil rights instead of economic rights.
   And baby, rights without resources are just fancy promises in poverty.

3. Integration was an emotional win but an economic death sentence.
   We gave up our own schools, buses, doctors, grocery stores just to sit at their counters and feel included in a system that still didn't want us.

He said: “If you don't own and control the economy of your community, you’re a guest in someone else’s house.”

So, while we were busy learning to code-switch and “fit in,” every other group was learning how to circulate their dollar sometimes 12, 15, 30 times before it left their hands.

Black dollar? Gone in six hours. SIX HOURS!
That ain’t an economy. That’s a donation to capitalism.

And let’s not get it twisted: One Black grocery store in Detroit is a beautiful thing.
But it’s not a system. It’s a miracle which should tell you how rigged the game is when our success stories are based on exception, not infrastructure.

And for all the people yelling "build Black!" with no blueprint, no land, no funding, and no safety net where were those people when the Black Wall Streets were bombed, flooded, or erased off the map?

We were economically strangled, then told to clap for scraps, then given a holiday to distract us from the fact that the check still ain’t cleared.

Section III: The Reparations Ledger – Who Got Paid and Why It Was Never Us

Let’s talk about the global tab.
The real receipts.
Because every time Black Americans bring up reparations, somebody starts acting brand new like there ain’t precedent, like there ain’t proof, like there ain’t math.

So let’s get specific.

The Global Payout Roll Call:

• Japanese Americans

Locked up in internment camps during WWII for being Japanese paid $20,000 each in 1988 under the Civil Liberties Act.
They were held for four years. We were enslaved for four centuries.

• Jewish Holocaust Survivors

The U.S. and Germany still issue payouts to Jewish families and survivors. Over $90 billion in reparations paid out since 1952.
That atrocity lasted 12 years.
Slavery in the U.S.? 246 years, followed by Jim Crow, redlining, mass incarceration, and cultural theft.

• Indigenous Tribes

Land stolen, people slaughtered, treaties broken and still, they were given federally recognized land, casino rights, grants, and protections.
Is it enough? No. But is it more than us? Without question.

• Asian Americans (2021)

ONE YEAR of hate crimes during the pandemic and the government passed a federal hate protection act with funding, enforcement, and media campaigns.
We’ve been lynched, burned, shot, beaten, and caged since before America had a name… and still not a damn act in sight.

Now let’s talk about us: The people who built the White House but weren’t allowed to sleep in it. The people who invented, sang, fought, labored, and birthed a whole country and got handed trauma and T-shirts in return. You wanna see some numbers?

Slavery built an estimated $24 trillion dollars in generational white wealth.

Black Americans today? We hold less than 2% of that wealth, with zero structural repair.

We are the only group that got nothing. NOTHING.

No check.
No land.
No safety.
No apology.
No protection.

They gave us a holiday and a hip-hop concert. And then they wonder why we side-eye every symbolic gesture like it’s dipped in deceit.
Because it is.

Section IV: The Great Gaslight of Juneteenth: The Day They Gave Us Cake and Called It Justice

Let’s be real Juneteenth didn’t become a national holiday because America finally grew a conscience. It became a holiday because America needed a distraction.

They needed a “Black thing” they could prop up. something they could sell to us while they ignored police brutality, redlined schools, underfunded neighborhoods, and generational poverty. And what better distraction than Juneteenth? A holiday that most folks didn’t even know about until Target put it on a mug.

🎭 Let’s Look at the Playbook:

1. Step 1: Take something sacred from Black history.

2. Step 2: Strip it of its raw pain and political power.

3. Step 3: Wrap it in corporate ribbon.

4. Step 4: Mass-produce it on paper plates.

5. Step 5: Sit back and watch the confused celebrations.

They didn’t honor Juneteenth because it mattered to us. They honored it because it was safe a way to “acknowledge” Black folks without cutting a damn check.

You Get a Holiday, But Not a Voice

No protection.
No policy.
No power.
Just parades, hashtags, and a collard green-scented candle.

And while we’re doing electric slides in the name of freedom, they sliding bills through Congress that strip away our voting rights, our housing, our healthcare, our dignity.

That’s the gaslight.

They want us to believe we’re winning while they’re tightening the leash.

This is what emotional manipulation looks like on a national level.
Give the people a party, so they stop demanding a payout.
Give them symbolism, so they stop asking for substance.

They want us so emotionally worn out from survival and celebration confusion that we forget we’re still owned just with newer packaging.

Section V: “Go Back to Africa” The Prophecy They Slipped and Didn’t Mean to Say

The Exit Was Always There; We Just Didn’t Know It Was Ours

Let’s talk about that phrase.
The one they’ve been weaponizing since Reconstruction, Jim Crow, and every time we had the nerve to want better.

“Go back to Africa.”

What they meant to say was: “You don’t belong here.” But what they accidentally told the truth about was: “You were never meant to stay enslaved in our system forever.”

And here’s the gag: That phrase wasn’t an insult. It was accidental inspiration.

A Portal! The Realest Truth They Ever Slipped

They didn’t mean to Lord knows they didn’t mean to but in telling us to “go back,”
they low-key admitted that:

• We don’t need them.

• This ain’t our home.

• And we’re powerful enough to rebuild ourselves somewhere else.

But we were too busy trying to prove we belonged, too busy fighting for a seat at a collapsing table, too traumatized to see the opening when it came.

Let’s Unpack It: We weren’t just in America first.
We were on Earth first.

Our feet have touched every soil, every sunbeam, every coast before this country even had a flag. So you really think we can’t thrive elsewhere?

Imagine America without:

• Black labor

• Black brilliance

• Black spending

• Black flavor

• Black culture

Watch this place dry up like an expired empire.

“The argument that we were in America first, albeit true, we were also on EARTH first. So that says what? We can live anywhere we choose and watch America try to survive without our consumption. We Black people spend the most and labor the least unless we're talking about having kids. We've been dumbed down to a molecule and have no skills or scaffolds.”

That’s not just my quote, that’s the epilogue of an empire.

And now? We’re no longer begging for equity.
We’re BUILDING exit routes. spiritual ones. Mental ones. Physical ones.

You don’t have to go “back” to Africa. You can go forward to sovereignty.
And baby, that might be Ghana. Might be Gambia. Might be Mexico. Might be your own mind. But the move? It’s overdue.

Section VI: The Illusion of Riches – How We Mistook Visibility for Victory. You Can’t Spend Clout, Baby

Let’s talk about the scam.
The sparkling, high-def, designer-drenched scam called Black success under white capitalism.

Because here’s what they sold us: “If you work twice as hard, dress ten times better, and smile through every microaggression, you might get to sit at the table.”

And some of us did.
We got the job.
We got the Benz.
We got the blue check.

But guess what we didn’t get?

We didn’t get power. Visibility ≠ Victory

Beyoncé is rich.
Oprah is rich.
LeBron is rich.

Black people?
Still not.

Wealth is not the same as money.
And money is not the same as freedom.

Because a few of us getting access doesn’t fix the fact that most of us are still holding the door open for everybody else. They told us if we became visible, we’d be free.

But they didn’t tell us:

• The spotlight is still on a stage they built

• The mic is plugged into their system

• And the applause only lasts as long as we perform

The Performer’s Trap

They gave us platforms, but no equity. Brands, but no ownership.
Followers, but no foundation.

They turned Black brilliance into spectacle.
Black trauma into content. Black pain into profit.

And we called it a win.

Because we’re so desperate for representation that we mistake being seen for being served.

We cried when we saw ourselves in a commercial but never asked who owns the company, or where the profits go.

We don't want another award.
We want land.
We want legacy.
We want silence from oppressors and sovereignty for ourselves.

Because at this point? A seat at the table ain’t worth shit if the menus still colonized.

I was scrolling, minding my own cosmic business, when I came across a video about how the world’s rarest dog’s literal radiation-forged hybrids, have not only survived in Chernobyl’s exclusion zone, but have adapted. Thrived, even.

WHAT HAPPENED AT CHERNOBYL?

Chernobyl was a nuclear power plant in what was then the Soviet Union, now modern-day Ukraine. On April 26, 1986, one of its reactors, Reactor No.4, exploded during a late-night safety test.

So, I was scrollin’ (as one does), and somebody said the calendar is just a man-made construct. And I was like… wait a minute who’s man? Time may be BUT the calendar … Mmm.
Because if it’s Gregorian Greg from the Vatican, we got a lot to unpack.
Turns out? The calendar wasn’t invented once it’s been tweaked, twisted, colonized, and even weaponized. Here is the truth.

The Original Timekeepers

Long before January was shakin’ hands with capitalism and astrology apps, ancient civilizations were tracking time with math, sky science, and spiritual alignment.

• The Egyptians created a 365-day solar calendar based on the Nile’s flooding and the rising of Sirius (not Apple’s Siri, the real star).

• The Mayans had multiple calendars, including the Tzolk’in (260 days) and the Haab’ (365 days). These weren’t just datebooks they were sacred blueprints for cosmic alignment.

• The Babylonians used lunar calendars and gave us the 7-day week. Yup… your whole life been running on ancient Mesopotamian vibes.

• The Chinese had lunisolar calendars that balanced moon cycles with solar seasons, and it's still celebrated today in Lunar New Year traditions.

Some dude saying “hello” was invented when the phone was invented. And I paused. Because I’ve heard a lot of American lies, but this one? This one was dressed in Wi-Fi and confidence.

It made me ask the bigger question: Why does the United States act like it created everything? Like the world was sitting in silence until it picked up the phone?

Let’s be clear, “hello” ain’t a spiritual innovation. It’s a greeting. And greetings existed before America existed.

But that’s the trick of empire:
They didn’t invent most things, they just branded it louder. They rename. Repackage. Rewrite. And then tell the rest of the world to say thank you.

This scroll is a gentle drag with global receipts. I’m naming the myth of American originality and reclaiming the brilliance of the world outside the borders. I’ll answer the call. And tell the truth while I’m at it.
