Thank you Tia Niki. <3 I see you, feel you and inner stand the battle. 29, finding the will to live, even while in Chang Mai, I need to talk because all I can do is feel.

Thank you for sharing and I love your humor about this! I had a partial hysterectomy due to a large fibroid a week before my 41st birthday. I tried to do a myomectomy first, like you did, but due to blood loss, they went straight for the partial. I never had children either and I did not trust the man I was with at the time as he was not taking care of the child he did have! We got divorced later that year. My oldest kitty cat passed away. I lost my uterus. It was the end of MANY things for me! I guess I got lucky as far as hot flashes. I have not had them in any significant amount or severity and since my eggs were left in, I did not go on hormonal therapy. Hitting the yoga mat helped me get acquainted with my body in a new way and still being a woman regardless of the inability to reproduce.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with me. Whew, what a powerful and layered year you went through. That’s a lot of endings all at once… and I just want to honor the strength it took to move through that kind of loss: your uterus, your relationship, your beloved kitty ...each one its own kind of grief, and all tied to identity and nurturing. I love that the yoga mat became your place of reconnection, a space to meet yourself anew and reclaim your womanhood on your own terms. That’s beautiful, sis.

I’m sending you a big, hammock-worthy hug for being part of this conversation. We carry so much, silently. I’m glad we’re not doing that alone anymore. 💖🫂

Absolutely loved this article!!!!! 62 and dealing with menopause, especially the night sweats that just recently started. Had partial hysterectomy in 2010. Started HRT March 2025. Best decision for me. Love hibiscus tea, love Merída!! Visited 3x, hoping to move there one day once my parents pass.

Thank you for you comment Ruby. I am glad they lifted and changed the concerns surrounding HRT. I start next week so your feedback is valuable. Thank you :)
